Financing – We can often arrange Financing for you, even when other firms cannot
ECA works directly with some of the top Non-Recourse Real Estate lenders in the US. Due to the fact that our Japan clients are foreign investors, and also due to certain structuring issues, these loans can be challenging to obtain and close. We have successfully navigated this in the past and can do so for our new clients as well. For larger properties we also work with a few of the most talented mortgage brokers in the business, which allows us to obtain the best proceeds and terms for the loans.
Legal – Our program’s legal counsel has decades of experience in New York Commercial Real Estate
We work closely with legal on the business issues. Our attorneys specialize in all aspects of real estate and development. The specific focus of their practice includes property acquisition, leasing and property sale, loft conversion, zoning and land use, condominium development and licensing, landlord-tenant issues, and real estate tax issues.

We work together with this New York City architectural firm, which provides services to developers, property managers and private owners. The firm has experience in a wide range of project types, and specializes in residential and mixed-use new development and adaptive re-use. It has executed approximately 250,000 sq. ft. of new construction, and 350,000 sq. ft. of gut rehab in New York City.
The company has also built a portfolio of imaginative lofts, townhouses and apartments for its residential clients. Residential work has been featured in Elle Decor, Vogue Living and New York Magazine. In addition, the firm has extensive expertise in Zoning variances and special permits, Building Code and ADA approvals, and Landmark districts.
Property Management is absolutely critical to the success of the overall investment. Our program’s Manhattan-resident Property Management firms all have decades of experience in NYC Commercial Real Estate. We like firms which are very hands-on, and which maintain direct involvement in the day-to-day operations of our Residential, Mixed Use, and Commercial Office properties.
Tax & Accounting
We work with a NY-based Certified Public Accountant (CPA) firm to prepare a property-level quarterly activity report in Japanese for the Client, as one part of our Asset Management reporting. The firm prepares quarterly bookkeeping reports of all financial transactions for inclusion in the quarterly report, and it also prepares the Client’s annual US Tax filing. We also work with the CPA to prepare an annual tax package for the Client’s Japan-side Accountant for annual Japan Tax Filing.
